ANIMAL FORTEANA

In the beginning of things men were animals and animals men. ~ Algonquin saying

"For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much — the wheel, New York, wars and so on — whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man — for precisely the same reasons." ~ The Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy

"Mistake?" Or Intent? : Gorillas mistake American tourist for one of their own - USATODAY.com

The title of this piece: "Gorillas Mistake American tourist for one of their own" is interesting. It's possible the gorillas knew very well the differences, no mistake at all, but an intentional action. Very moving and beautiful, truly awe inspiring. But to assume the gorillas made a "mistake" trivializes the episode and underestimates the gorillas. Gorillas mistake American tourist for one of their own - USATODAY.com
